The myTouch Slide Is Awesome

myTouch Slide

It's pretty awesome.

Late last year, I bought a Motorola CLIQ. The CLIQ runs Android 1.5, has a nice keyboard, and it comes built-in with neat social networking features (via MOTOBLUR). (I wish Motorola didn’t feel the need to uppercase all of their brand names. >_<) Anyway, it was a pretty decent phone, and it was a nice introduction for me to the wonderful world of Android.

However, I craved a newer Android OS (at least 2.0, so I can get support for multiple Google accounts). I also didn’t like that the CLIQ’s touchscreen wasn’t all that great.  Once I heard about the myTouch Slide, I decided I would upgrade and give this new guy a try.

I’m glad I did, because this thing’s awesome.

MSOE 2010 Senior Design Show

MSOEIt’s been a while since I talked about my alma mater. The only time I made a post about MSOE’s Senior Design show was four years ago. Too bad I never wrote about my senior design project (I graduated in 2008). But I feel like mentioning it this year.

The Customer Service Hall of Shame

This is what I look like after dealing with customer service.

Every year since 2007, MSN Money has compiled a list of  the top ten companies with the worst customer service. I only stumbled upon this recently, so I figured that I should share and highlight their findings. They haven’t published their 2010 results yet, however, so you’ll have to settle with just their 2007, 2008, and 2009 results.

MSN Money partners with a polling and market research company in order to gather their data for the top ten lists. About 3,000 or so people are randomly chosen to participate in the survey. Each person rates 145 companies based on what their experience was with their customer service, on a scale of “excellent” to “poor” to “I haven’t had an interaction with this company’s customer service.”

Judging from who’s on the list, I’m not surprised at all that these companies have terrible customer service. Although, it’s also interesting to see who ranked highly in customer service, and which companies received a lot of mixed responses.
